Terms of Service

This app is for people applying to serve on the worship team at Life Baptist Church, and for the leaders who review them. It is not a public service and it is not open to the general public. Accounts are subject to approval by a worship team leader.

By creating an account, or by using the app if a leader created your invitation, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy, which is part of this agreement.

You must be at least 13 years old to have an account. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13, and we will delete one promptly if we learn of it.

If you are between 13 and 17, a parent or guardian must give permission before you create an account, and by creating one you confirm they have. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to see what we hold about their child, correct it, or have it deleted.

• Give accurate information and keep your contact details current.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account, so tell a leader promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
• One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else or sign in as them.
• Leader accounts are created by invitation only. Signing up on your own always creates a candidate account, whatever a link may say.

You will be asked for a written testimony, responses to short questions, and audio or video recordings of you singing or playing. Submit only your own work and your own words.

You keep ownership of everything you submit. You give Life Baptist Church a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and review it for one purpose only: evaluating and placing you on the worship team. That licence lasts while you have an account and ends when your material is deleted.

We will not publish your recordings, put them in promotional or fundraising material, show them to the congregation, or share them outside the worship team leadership without asking you first and getting your agreement. If we ever want to use something more widely, that is a separate conversation and you are free to say no.

Do not upload anything that:

• you do not have the right to share,
• contains another identifiable person without their knowledge, including anyone recorded in the background,
• is unlawful, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate for a church setting.

The app records audio and video when you choose to start a recording, and it analyses the pitch and timing of what you sing or play in order to score it. By starting a recording you consent to that.

Recording only ever begins when you press a record button. The app does not listen in the background, and it does not use your microphone or camera at any other time. You can discard a take and re-record as often as you like before submitting one.

If anyone else can be heard or seen in your recording, get their agreement first — and if they are a minor, their parent's.

You may take the evaluations in any order and retry them as many times as you like. Some are scored automatically; others — written responses, video submissions, and your testimony — are read and scored by a person.

Some feedback and summaries are generated by an AI model and are labelled wherever they appear. No decision about you is made automatically by that model. It assists a human reviewer, and a person at Life Baptist Church makes every placement decision, at their discretion. You may ask for a human explanation of any AI-generated text held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or removed.

Completing every evaluation, or scoring highly, does not entitle you to a position on the worship team.

Automatic scoring depends on your microphone, your device, and your connection. Scores are a guide, not a measurement of your worth or your musicianship.

Serving on a worship team is unpaid volunteer ministry. Using this app, being evaluated through it, or being placed on the team does not create an employment relationship, an independent contractor relationship, a partnership, or any entitlement to pay, benefits, or continued service. Nothing in these terms is a promise of a position, for any length of time.

Do not:

• attempt to reach another person's account, recordings, or evaluation results,
• probe, scan, or attempt to defeat the app's security or rate limits,
• submit answers or recordings that are not your own, or otherwise try to manipulate a score,
• use the messaging feature to harass anyone or to send unsolicited bulk messages,
• automate access to the app, or copy its content for use elsewhere.

Accounts that do these things can be suspended or removed. If you find a security problem, please report it to the leadership rather than exploiting it — we will be grateful, and we will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine finding in good faith and does not access or change other people's data.

Your testimony, recordings, and evaluation results are visible to worship team leaders at Life Baptist Church and to no one else. Private leader notes and placement decisions are not shown to candidates. Our Privacy Policy sets out what we collect, who processes it for us, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it.

You may stop at any time and ask an administrator to delete your account. See section 16 for how to reach us if you can no longer sign in.

Life Baptist Church may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, or when someone is no longer being considered for the worship team. Except where a delay would risk harm to someone or to the app, we will tell you if we do this and why, and you may ask a leader to reconsider.

Sections 4, 7, 11, 12, 13 and 15 continue to apply after your account ends.

We work to keep Check One Two available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, it is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. A recording that fails to upload is not recoverable by us.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Life Baptist Church and its staff, leaders and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost opportunity, arising from your use of the app.

Because the app is provided free of charge and no one pays anything to use it, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude. Some states do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, contact us (section 16) and give us 30 days to try to resolve it with you. Most problems with a church app are best sorted out by a conversation, and we would rather have that one.

If that does not resolve it, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of NV, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in that state.

We have deliberately not required you to give up your right to go to court or to join a class action.

These terms may change as the app does. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect. If we make a material change, we will tell people with active accounts — by email or in the app — before it takes effect where we reasonably can, and in any case no later than when it does.

Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, you can stop using the app and ask us to delete your account.

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Life Baptist Church about the app, and they replace anything said before.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part applies to the fullest extent the law allows. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.

You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else. Life Baptist Church may transfer them to a successor organisation — for example on a merger or a change of name — on notice to you.
